You must hold a valid Australian Driver’s Licence and have a car. Carers occasionally need to drive to various Melbourne suburbs.
Police Check
You must be able to provide a valid police check and evidence of working rights (Passport, Birth Certificate, Drivers License)
Fitness
Some physical fitness, as well as full body movement and ability.
Relevant Qualifications
For carer or nursing roles, a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent), an EEN title or any related expertise.
CAREER PATHS WITH LUXE CARE
Home nursing and home carer roles in Melbourne sit within a defined clinical and support framework at Luxe Care, spanning companion care, personal care assistance, and nursing positions. Structured pathways recognise both formal qualifications and relevant experience, enabling progression from entry‑level support functions through to enrolled and registered nursing and associated coordination roles within the organisation.
Companion Carer:
As a Companion Carer, no formal qualifications are required. However, real-life experience is essential. This could include caring for a family member, friend, or someone in your community at home, providing practical support and assistance with daily activities.
Progress to Personal Care Assistant (PCA) by completing Certificate III or Certificate IV in Individual Support (CHC33015). Some institutions (RTO/Tafe) may allow specialisation in Ageing or Disability.
Practical placement opportunities may be completed with Luxe Care to gain hands-on experience.
Personal Care Assistant:
PCA levels may vary depending on the certificates obtained.
Further education can include Certificate IV in Ageing Support or equivalent courses to advance skills and responsibilities
Nursing:
Progress to Enrolled Nurse (EN) by completing a Diploma of Nursing.
Advance to Registered Nurse (RN) through a Bachelor of Nursing.
From nursing, career pathways may include After Hours Coordinator or Care Manager roles within Luxe Care.
